I Move Houses

Trade them like shoes
slip into a better pair,
wear them out with overuse
purchase another, no matter,
goes better with the outfit.

I move rooms,
downsize,
trade for something more
forgiving. Less area to fill,
less echo in a partly empty space.

I move beds.
Trade yours for another, musical
chairs, I laugh like a child
to myself. Finally ending
in self warmed sheets.
I won't be lonely when the sun comes up,
I will be when it rises.
